Fractal Leadership Model: The Underlying Science Foundation

Four basic principles appear to underlie the all the processes active in the universe:

Fractal self-similarity

  • Whoever has seen me, has seen the Father. Jesus (John 14:9 TLV)

(Divine self similarity)

  • Nebula and human eyes 

(galactic to anatomical self similarity across systems)

 

  • Tree stump and human fingerprint (biological to anatomical) 

Self organization of natural systems

  • Crystallization of minerals; swarming of birds, insects
  • neural circuits; black markets

Complex adaptive systems

  • Leaderless groups with emergent leaders
  • Natural recovery of ecosystems after a fire
  • immune responses
  • gut biomes
  • neuroplasticity




Interconnectedness 
  • quantum spooky action at a distance
  • quantum observer effect-double slit experiments down to the quantum level
  • Bells theorem validation
  • At the cosmic scale, the math for the universe doesn't work without an "external observer"

The Power of Paradox

For the last year or more,  I have been preoccupied with the concept and power of paradox. It prompted me to rebrand my consulting business with the name, and  to consider the concept's place in the universe as well as in leadership. Today my understaning of paradox moved to a new level. My new understanding of my imaginary companion (when I was 3!😎)

I was just 26 months old when my younger brother Kerry was born. He was a premie, and apparently had some serious problems  post partum, so he was in NICU for a period of time. (The lack of detail about this crisis is a family dynamic worth discussing but at another time.) In any case, I was put in the care of a lovely and caring worman, Joyce Hilden, who was a friend of my mom's and a close neighbor just two houses away. I have only a couple of fuzzy memories of that time: I insisted on picking out my own clothes to wear; and I became known for my oft repeated "me do myself". I also developed an imaginary companion; a large, friendly bunny named George who went everywhere with me. Introduction to the new series: Thought for the day with Dr K

In my quiet time this morning before I got out of bed, I believe the Holy Spirit was speaking to me about using my writing talent during this transition from daily divorce litigation challenges with clients and lawyers to the new challenges of helping startup enterprises like Microbicbloc.  I am a talented and award winning author, and I have downplayed that talent my entire life. I won my first award for my writing in 6th grade (thank you Mrs. Minga Hall) for my autobiography entitled "Me". My second award for writing came right after law school when the book I co-wrote with Dan Shuman, one of my law school profs, "Psychiatric and Psychological Evidence" was published by Shepards/McGraw-Hill. The American Psychiatric Association recognized the book with the Alfred Guttmacher award for the best book in law and psychiatry for the year 1986.
